Summer is here & Father’s Day Winner

Summer time .. Beach, Sun, Surf, playful fun.!!

The garden is lush .. vibrant with all the different shades of green. All we need now is some sun .. need to feel that sun energy on my face .. for sure.

Summer is here .. the ‘rain’ in this part of the world has been a bit overwhelming to say the least. Though my flowers are blooming, the scents are permeating the air .. I actually picked my first hot red pepper, tomatoes have tons of flowers as do the zucchini ..

The pergola is coming along .. though not yet completed .. patience ..

The winner of our Father’s Day Give A Way is ::
Nadine Roelfs of Mankato MN.

Father’s Day & Summer Solstice ~

This weekend is Father’s Day .. a day to celebrate and honor the men in our lives.
I was not fortunate to know my Dad … however, my Grandpa and Uncles were very loving and positive roll models for me.

Some quotes for Father’s Day:

‘It is not flesh and blood ..
but the heart which makes us ..
fathers and sons. ‘
– – Johann Schiller

‘Sherman made the terrible discovery that men make about their fathers sooner or later… that the man before him was not an aging father but a boy, a boy much like himself, a boy who grew up and had a child of his own and, as best he could, out of a sense of duty and, perhaps love, adopted a role called Being a Father so that his child would have something mythical and infinitely important: a Protector, who would keep a lid on all the chaotic and catastrophic possibilities of life. ‘
~ ~Tom Wolfe, The Bonfire of the Vanities

“My father didn’t tell me how to live;
he lived, and let me watch him do it.”
— Clarence Budington Kelland

The longest day of the year is the Summer Solstice, usually on June 21st.

‘Then followed that beautiful season… Summer….
Filled was the air with a dreamy and magical light; and the landscape
Lay as if new created in all the freshness of childhood.’
~~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

‘Summer is the time when one sheds one’s tensions with one’s clothes,
and the right kind of day is jeweled balm for the battered spirit.
A few of those days and you can become drunk with the belief
that all’s right with the world.’
~~Ada Louise Huxtable

Enjoy the balmy summer days ahead.

March comes in like a lion.! ~

Snow Storm in the City
March is coming in like a lion ..
as the saying goes.
The snow is just beautiful ..
but then again, I am one of the lucky ones
that does not have to commute to work.

Thought I would share this site, sent to me by Greg Lynch,
a SunRose Customer, who wrote an article on ‘Solar Cooking’.

Solar Cooking is, I believe, a step into the future of food preparation that is available today. Make sure you don’t miss your opportunity to taste the future of food right now.
Happy cooking!

A review on our Ageless Elixir:

I just wanted to say a word or two or three about SunRose Ageless Elixir Formula. I am a 56 year old woman and a natural red head. Needless to say I have very sensitive skin and it’s close to impossible to find a facemoisturizer that doesn’t have some kind of acid in it.

I’m convinced that it’s the acid in all the moisturizers now-a-days is part and parcel of the increase in melanoma but that’s another story.

I love Ageless Elixir, it doesn’t sting, and it absorbs immediately.
I am continually complimented on my skin tone and color so
thought I’d pass on the night-time routine that works for me.

When I take a shower I wait till my skin is soft from the steam
and then I exfoliate with SunRose Apricot Kernel Meal.

When I get out of the shower I then spritz with SunRose Frankincense Hydrosol.

Once that’s dry I put on my SunRose Ageless Elixir Facial Formula.
The next morning when I wake up TA-DA I’m gorgeous.

Thank you Rosanne for making such great products!!!!!!!!!!

Bright Blessings, Katherine L. Tupman,

First a howling blizzard woke us,

and goes out like a lamb.

Until then,
