Infused oils ~have hundreds of possibilities.
Some are wonderful for culinary purposes while others can be mixed into lotions, soaps, and other bath and body products.
By knowing the carrier oils and the herbs within them, you can create a delicious meal or a decadent moisturizer.
These oils are created when a carrier oil such as jojoba, SunFlower or olive oil are mixed with herbs or spices.
By placing the herb or spice in the oil for several days in clean, dry containers it allows the oil to absorb the herb’s or spice’s taste or smell to be used.
Some oils have different purposes than others.

Many use Arnica to rub on bruises, bumps, and chronically pained areas. Infused oil with Arnica rub is great to keep during the fall when children play sports like football or for snowier days when it can become slippery. Be sure to use externally and not in open wounds or compound fractures. You should also be sure to put it in a cool, dry place to keep the oil from going rancid. By keeping it in the refrigerator you can keep it cool and it will feel fantastic on bumps and bruises.
The scent of vanilla is popular in many oils, lotions, and soaps. It is a recognizable scent that smells fresh and isn’t over powering. It also can be mixed with other spices and herbs to create a light scent that can be used in bath and body products. Like any other infused oil, be sure to keep it in a cool, dry place before, during, and after use to avoid spoiling. You should also ensure that air or moisture does not enter the bottle. This can create mold and make the oil rancid.
Calendula has many uses for skin treatment, bruising, skin irritation, and bug bites. Traditionally, calendula was used primarily for its anti-inflammatory and vulnerary properties. Since then, research has proven that Calendula is perfect for helping bumps and bruises heals. It is also known for diminishing skin blemishes such as varicose veins, rashes, eczema, and even bug bites.
Using infused oils can help create a better bath and body regiment for you and your family.
It can also make meals and snacks tastier and healthier depending on the carrier oil and herb or spice.
Be sure that all infused oils are stored in a clean, dry container and put in a cool place.
You should also keep in mind that infused oils can spoil so try to keep as much moisture out of the bottle as possible.
