Solar Eclipse, New Moon & Spring Equinox ~

Quote:
‘Laughter is the sun
that drives winter
from the human face.’
~ Victor Hugo

Lots of exciting happenings in the sky this weekend.

For the first time since November 3, 2013,
the Moon will completely cover the disk of the Sun
on March 20, resulting in a total solar eclipse.

The Spring equinox occurs more than 12 hours after the eclipse ends.

Its been a very rough Winter Season for some of us around the USA.
Between the cold weather and howling winds,
the heat in the house drying out our skin ..
it is time to make some Body Creme and pamper
your skin .. Face, hands, elbows, feet .. all over.

DIY:
Easy to make body creme:
(and remember its your creation
you can formulate this to your liking)

– 1 cup (16oz) Shea butter Organic
– 1/4 cup Virgin Coconut Carrier Oil Organic
– 1 tsp of Vitamin E oil (Non Gmo if possible)
– 1/2 oz of your favorite essential oil or blend
(ie Lavender, Sandalwood, etc)

Optional:
I like to add equal parts:
– 1 Tsp Rosehip Organic (highest form of Vit C for your skin)
– 1 Tsp Evening Primrose Carrier Oil Organic

1. in a bowl add your Shea butter, VCO, Vit E
2. then blend your essential oil & rosehip / evening primrose mix and add to the bowl.

3. with either your kitchen aid or hand mixer ..
whip til it is the texture of meringue.

Because you are not adding any water you really do not have to worry about bacteria .
(Remember Vit E is NOT a preservative).

4. Once you have the texture you desire, place your body creme into a jar,
tapping on a cushioned pad to pack down and to get the air out.

who make our souls blossom.

And so, another season is coming to an end ..
isn’t it funny how by the end of a Season ..
we are ready to see it go.
I am so looking forward to Spring coming to Maine,
seeing what survived the winter,
the herbal beds, and flower beds, to be created ..
There is so much to discover here ..
Life is full and Spring is bursting with New Life, New Beginnings ..
~ until next time .. be well, Rosanne

Summer Time 2012 has arrived!

Peony flowers 2012

Its been a while since I wrote a blog post here. It seems between Facebook and Pinterest, and life happening .. I have been remiss in my entries.

The summer so far has been sweltering. Fires raging thru out the South West, my prayers for all those in those parts.

Politically, they are ramping up for the elections this year. I think I will keep my opinions to myself .. Politics and Religion… I don’t go there.

Basket of Lavender w/ Bundle 2012

What is blooming in your garden? My Lavender is amazing this year, and my elderberries are off the hook huge and tons of flowers, I will be busy this year with them.

Also made for the first time, Chives and white wine vinegar. It is so yummy. For sure will make more bottles next year.!!

I love Reflexology! I studied it back in the late 1999. As a young girl when my Grandpa would come home from work his feet hurt him so much I would take off his boots and sock and massage them for him. I saw the relief he received and how relaxed it made him. this is an informative artilce by Sun Gazing on FaceBook. Enjoy.

What is Foot Reflexology?

Foot Reflexology has become a well respected ADJUNCT to regular medical care. It is used in Hospitals, by Physical Therapists and Chiropractors to enhance MOST forms of medical treatments.

It is not a “miracle” or a “faith healing” type thing. Sometimes, like other therapies, it takes a few sessions.

Foot reflexology can help ease the pain of achy joints and muscles, relieve headaches and toothaches, improve the functioning of major systems of the body.

Foot Reflexology works by applying pressure at specific points on the bottom of the foot. This is not the same as acupressure or acupuncture.

In fact, the only thing that is the same is that medical science can’t prove how it works…they just know it does!!

There are over 7,200 nerve endings at the bottom of each foot. Nerves connect to every organ, every limb and region of the body through the brain and spinal column. It is thought that foot reflexology works in much the same way. Even though we don’t actually work the nerve endings, the correlation of the bottom of the feet to every region of the body definitely exists. It was originally called “The Zone” therapy in the early 20th century and was successfully organized into a comprehensive therapy by a physical therapist, Eunice Ingham in the ’40s. She coined the term “reflexes” when referring to this therapy.

Foot reflexology can increase the blood flow to the part of the body being worked, which in turn increases the oxygen going to that part.

The increased blood flow helps take away toxins that build up in each cell of the body each day.

This brings more health and vitality to the region plus adds a sense of over-all well-being. When our feet feel good, we feel good!

Learn to do foot reflexology to help your family and friends feel better! Get help getting your body back to its’ natural state of health by teaching your family to do foot reflexology on you!

Please realize that foot reflexology is NOT a substitute for medical treatment, you are always encouraged to seek professional medical help when needed, however, this therapy can be used in conjunction with most treatments for most conditions.

Please, if being treated by a medical professional, get that professional’s permission before doing foot reflexology for that medical condition.  ~ by sun Gazing on FaceBook
